Redraft
We project a stat line rather than fantasy points — carries, targets, catches, yards, touchdowns — so any scoring system can be applied to it directly. Each offense is built as a whole first (how many plays it runs, how often it throws, how often it scores), and player volume is shared out of that team total, so a crowded backfield can’t be credited with more carries than the team will actually run.

Each defender gets a projected stat line — snaps, solo and assisted tackles, sacks, tackles for loss, quarterback hits, interceptions, passes defensed and forced fumbles. Playing time comes first, and each stat is weighted by how repeatable it actually is season to season: tackles are quite predictable, sacks reasonably so for linemen, and turnovers largely aren’t, so we’re careful not to project them as though they were.

Defenders are ranked on what we expect them to do next season rather than what they did last season, which over a dynasty horizon tends to be the more useful signal. Every player is graded only on what’s currently known about him as a prospect: his recruiting grade, production adjusted for age and level of competition, advanced metrics, when he broke out and how young he declared, athletic testing, and either projected or realized NFL draft capital. Worth being upfront about one finding: for ordering defensive rookies within a position, draft capital is close to the strongest signal available, and college box score stats add less than you might expect — so rather than trying to out-rank the draft, we turn the grade into a projected stat line.
